Did you guys see this!? Bare Escentuales/minerals is launching a new skincare line! This company is highlyrecommended for their amazing make-up, and has millions of fans all over the world. I’m sure their new skin care line (Made of dirt by the way! EWWW!!) is going to be FAB! Check out the aritcle on it http://www.stylelist.com/2011/03/02/bare-escentuals-bare-minerals-skin-care-line/
Bare Escentuals may be best known for popularizing mineral makeup, but now the brand is looking to cause a new revolution with its first foray into skin care.
Rolling out to retailers during the month of March, the new line of cleansers, moisturizers, antiaging treatmentsand blemish zappers boast a proprietary RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex that harnesses the power of minerals found in soil to replenish skin and increase cell turnover.
Yep, that’s right — this is going to be a little like putting dirt on your face.
Hey, we pay good money for spas to mask us in the stuff, don’t we? Maybe Bare Escentuals is on to something here.
The brand claims the antioxidant punch of its new formula outperforms both blueberries and pomegranates — both often cited for their super antioxidant powers.
“Our bodies don’t create minerals. We have to look to food to get our minerals, and health issues can even arise when you’re lacking in them. The over 70 minerals used in our new line come from virgin soil, where it’s extracted into a liquid form,” said a brand spokesperson at the New York launch of the new line.
In keeping with the brand’s back-to-nature San Francisco roots, all products are free of parabens, artificial oils and synthetic fragrances.
The most unique find in the line will no doubt be the Pure Transformation Night Treatment, which is a revamp of the brand’s best-selling Skin Revival Treatment. Containing vitamins A, C and E in addition to white tea and emblica fruit, the powder exfoliates skin in similar fashion to a retinol. And like the original, you can select from clear or a variety of light-diffusing shades if some natural coverage is what you want when hitting the sheets — perhaps because you have company.
The prize for most offbeat ingredient goes to the Purely Nourishing Moisturizer, enriched with the South African Resurrection Plant that is so powerful, it springs back to life with just a drop of water — so the story goes. Honey, jojoba and apricot-kernel oil join the fabled plant for a hydrating blend that also includes the antioxidant protection of red tea, green tea, coffee and licorice. A more emollient Purely Nourishing Cream will also be available for dry skin types.
And if you like the squeak of clean, you’ll enjoy the cleanser-heavy selection of three types from which to choose. The Purifying Cleanserclarifies skin with a blend of pineapple, lychee, guava and kiwi fruit enzymes, while the Deep Cleansing Foam hydrates with avocado oil and gentle cleansers derived from palm-kernel oil. Finally, the Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser doubles as an exfoliating mask that pulls away impurities with Chilean soap bark, colloidal oatmeal and rice powder.
Products range in price from $18 for the sulfur-based Blemish Therapy, to $60 for the aforementioned Pure Transformation Night Treatment.
Look for the skin savers to roll out to Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom and Macy’s this month, in addition to Bare Escentuals boutiques and online shop.
Will Bare Escentuals strike gold again with skin care? We’ll have to wait and see if the mineral makeup divas put down their kabuki brushes to venture a try.
Other suggestions… Are you tired of your room? Go get one of those “beds in a bag” its a cheap and easy way to change that old dull bedroom into something new and fun!
AND buy one of these… It’s a necklace. It’s a scarf. It’s a scarflace! Dress up a tank top or add some spark to your blazer. Saako’s scarf-like necklaces are animated, tactile and earthy; vibrant; Mediterranean, and beg to be touched. Each is handmade in Barcelona, Spain, by local women long familiar with the proud traditions of Portuguese and Spanish textiles. Pulls over head, and is SO ADORABLE!
