FFM’S Electro Synth Pop Brings Down the House (Music)

FFM also known as Female Female Male exploded onto the Electro House scene in the fall of 2007 with their EP “Time Bomb” leaving a perminant and ever growing mark on the Chicago Electro synth-pop-rock-house music genre. I know, it’s a mouth full is’nt it?

The band headed by Lindsay Frkovich on lead vocals and guitar, Adam Nelson on drums and vocals, and Christine Fasan on synth keys and back up vocals got their start at the famed Chicago Q-Studios in the heart of Logan Square. Adam Nelson, also known as Sombionx, is well recognized in the underground house music scene as both Dj, producer, and writer appearing on numerous tracks and remixes among artists like Kaskade. They’ve performed around the globe over fifty times in the past four years playing with the likes of Boy George, M.A.N.D.Y, and She Wants Revenge. Adam draws his roots from new wave punk. Both the FF’s of the bands more sensual members, Lindsay (acting as lead writer), and Christine lend their synth stylistics to the music squaring off with a geometric sound that hits as sharply as their platform heels do on the dance floor.

Having the priveldge to see FFM perform at numerous Chicago haunts like the Congress Theatre, the Double Door, and Smart Bar, I am always left with a sense of wanting. Lindsays velvet like vocals flood over Nelsons electronic drum beats while Fasan’s synth keys add an extra punk rock, almost 80′s fusion to the trios house pop dynamic which is, ladies and gentleman, a force to be reckoned with. If you were ever into the 80′s new wave, electric pop rock band Missing Persons, or the art punk band from London, Siouxsie and the Banshees, you will fall in love with FFM!

Currently they are working on new material with their new album to debut in 2012.
