Men’s Fashion Monday

(Michelle Resendiz)

Guys take a minute to look at John Varvatos hes styled the best of the best, and been involved in some of the best shoe creations by far this millennium.  He’s been in the press everywhere from The Wall Street Journal, Details, to Vanity Fair and is on the fast track to success. Here’s some of  my Favorites from his site http://www.johnvarvatos.com/

These Chuck Taylor Oxfords by Converse & John Varvatos, are a web exclusive, so you can only get them online. They are $125.00 and leather! Here’s the details according to the site; Web exclusive classic style has distressed premium leather with just the right amount of nostalgia for a revamped retro feel.

These Limited addition Studded Chuck Taylor hi-top shoes are also available online and for $200.00 this might not be the most frugal choice, but it definitely is the more ‘bad boy’ choice… nothing screams bad boy more than these. Here’s the stats right from the site; Limited Edition studded canvas Chuck Taylor high-top sneaker.  These kicks feature antique nickel pyramid studs and flat stud detail, pinstripe lining, leather laces and a burnished rand gel outsole.

Are you not really a sneakers kinda guy? I have the perfect boot. I love these Multi-Prong Bowery boots they are made in Italy and are definitely a Splurge item coming in at a whopping $750.00 I would think twice about letting your best friend borrowing them. Here’s the stats; Fine Italian calf skin leather is used to create the Bowery Multi-Prong Boot. The boots are garment dyed to achieve a soft leather hand and vintage look. A
refined pin and whole fastening system closes the boot on the lateral side. Made in Italy.

Mens Fashion: Key Elements

Today, on our new Men’s Fashion Segment, we are going to give out more free advice. If you remember in last weeks segment ( http://blogs.fusionradio.fm/fusion/2011/02/mens-fashion-back-to-basics/ ) We talked about the amazing A.J Buckley, and the super sexy Jensen Ackles, and how they accent an outfit using the right accessories. You can too, and I encouraged you to follow their style to get some good ideas on what you should start to add first. Start with the Basics, then once you get a style going then you can get a little crazy with it.

Lets learn what to sweat about this week! This week I’m going to teach you to sweat SOME of the small stuff… not everything. There is a couple of  things that are really important in Fashion and, believe it or not, in the Men’s Fashion dept they are REALLY important.  Like shoes, accessories, the right fit on anything really, and how well you put together the ensemble. For example: Your shoe choice… Shoes pull an outfit together. You could be perfectly styled form head to toe, but if you are wearing a bad pair of shoes the whole effort was for nothing. Shoes are personal. They have to fit your style and compliment your outfit. Just let it be known, people will notice your shoes! So remember when you are picking the perfect shoe for yourself it needs to be comfy, fit your style, and try to pic a color that will match everything in your closet. I always suggest to have at least one good pair of black shoes, and nice pair of brown shoes, a kick-en pair of boots, and a comfy pair of sneakers.  See Shoe Fetish’s are not just for Girls, or Sex and the City Fanatics!

Josh Duhamel & Fergie

Check out Josh and Fergie’s Cool new years style. They are under Fusion’s Spotlight this week for Men’s Fashion. Josh Duhamel is one of my faves on the *Stylish hotties list* and I, personally, love the color choices he makes. (Pictured at right) Josh wears a grey button down, and accents it with a white tie! Fantastic color choices. Kudos to the couple for looking great and fashionable together without doing that lame Britney and Justin “matching” thing.

Briney and Justin's Double Denim Misery

Does everyone remember this CRAZY monstrosity? Yeah… PLEASE DONT TRY THAT AT HOME!!  OK moving on.

Layering pieces adds texture and dimension to any outfit. A very easy way to layer is by piling on 3 items. Examples being:  Dress Shirt,Vest, Blazer. Or Dress Shirt, Button Up Sweater, Jacket. My personal favorite on a guy is V-neck Tee, Flannel Button up,  Zip up Hoodie/Jacket. Be aware of how many pieces you are layering, the key is to remember that you are not trying to add bulk! ( Read more: http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicagos-cheap-and-chic/2010/03/a-word-on-mens-fashion.html#ixzz1EF06jFlA I get a lot of awesome ideas from this blog. I usually tweak them with my own opinions as well, but for a basis of info they have it! )

Michelle’s pick of the week! Try on these amazing asymmetrical sweaters the next time you go to the store. They are super stylish and fashionable, and Flattering on a lot of different body types. Look for them at Macy’s and JCPenney. They are probably available at tons of stores, if you guys want all the lists. I can compile it for you.

The asymmetrical look is really popular again this season, and I can think of a million ways to wear it. These looks would look great on with a button down under it (pictured above). Or you could try it with a rugged jacket over it, or just by itself with a hot belt and some great fitting jeans (pictured at left) Either way you pair this piece is bound to get some heads turning.

Tune in next week for the Men’s Fashionable haircuts. Which look is the best for your face?
