» D.TRANCE is where it all began, inspiring the trance music movement which many big-name trance (think Armin Van Buuren and Tiesto) producers followed.
The D.TRANCE story started in 1995 when its three founders (Marcel Ewald, Gary D., and Ecki Stamer) had the idea to create “the mother of all compilations” for the fledgling trance music community—D.TRANCE 1—which sold out in just three days. Later D.TRANCE issues have all hit the top 10, and while other trance compilations have moved toward pop or in other directions, D.TRANCE has always stayed true to pure trance.
CAPP Records introduced D.TRANCE to North America with their first two volumes in the 50 D.TRANCE TUNES series. Now the third in the series, 50 D.TRANCE TUNES, VOLUME 3, brings you another 5 CD’s worth of digitally remastered, pure trance music, gathered from the last 56 D.TRANCE issues.
On top of the 50+ Trance tracks, there is an 80-minute long exclusive DJ mix featuring some of the best tracks on the album!
50. D Trance Tunes, Vol. 3 is available for pre-order on iTunes and will be released on February 26th. Click here to check it out!

» This year marks the 20th anniversary of the classic videogame, Mortal Kombat. To celebrate, CAPP Records (in partnership with Mental Madness Records, Germany) preset an incredible new version of the classic cult anthem.
“Mortal Kombat” has become the de facto theme song for the game; it dates back to 1993 when it saw its first single release – the same year the game was released for home game console play.
The single features 8 radio mixes and 9 club remixes. The release begins with strong Electro treatment from Thomas You. It’s followed by an incredible Dubstep mix from Gimbal & Sinan. The reknowned Jan van Bass-10 brings a great Hardstyle mix, followed by a new Techno remix from Brooklyn Bounce. Hello to all Electronic Dance Music lovers and Fusion fans! I was asked by Fusion Radio to do an introductory post just to tell you a bit about myself and my contributions to the Fusion blog starting this month. In each blog post, I will be covering everything EDM related, industry happenings, and the latest releases!
First off, I want to thank Fusion for inviting me to be a part of the Fusion family! They are a great contributor to the music industry and bring a fantastic selection of Dance music from many locations all over the world. Hopefully you have found new musicians and artists you may have never heard of before by tuning in to the station.
I fell in love with Electronic Dance Music (EDM) around the age of 10. Some of my most memorable artists and songs from my childhood years were “Castles In The Sky” by Ian Van Dahl, “Something” by Lasgo, and “Look At Us” by Sarina Paris. Do any of you remember those songs? *Bonus points if you do*
So who is “Mello-Dee”? Well, it’s a pseudonym I created for myself to use as my musician name. I am a musician myself – a music producer, songwriter, and remixer with increasing knowledge in sound engineering as well. Music has been a big part of my life all of my life. I started out with keyboard lessons when I was 5 years old, then continued with piano lessons until around age 11. I’ve also taken French Horn lessons, voice lessons, and Music Theory.
Rikah – Looking Through The Window (Mello-Dee Radio Remix) [2010] by Mello-Dee
The track above is just a taste of some of my work in recent years. Rikah is a fantastic singer/songwriter currently living in Hawaii and who just recently gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.
I continue to produce a number of Dance/Pop tracks with European flavor, but I also produce in the style of Progressive/Uplifting Trance as well as Chillout and Ambient styled works. I am currently spending time on a rather large project which will feature a number of my Chillout-inspired productions which will suite perfectly when looking to relax from a stressful day or could even be suitable for a Yoga class!
Stay tuned for a lot more music from myself and various singers/artists I collaborate with. There are some exciting things in store and 2012 is looking to be a great year for Dance music! To check out some of my other tracks, please visit my Facebook BandPage!
Thank you for reading and I am looking forward to providing all listeners and readers with some exciting Dance music news! - JOSH // MELLO-DEE
