Meet John Oudo

John Oudo is a name we should look forward to hearing about in the future Fusionites! According to the London based DJ, House fans are becoming more open minded with their tastes in music.

Oudo is a jack of all trades when it comes to mixing and mastering the music that we call House! He not only produces but composes and writes his own songs. His record label, Big Spin Music, has introduced some of the livest up and coming artists like London based singer/songwriter Selina Campbell, and Chicago based songstress Nicole Mitchell!

Oudo has spun his way to become a major player in the house and club circuit for over twelve years now, experimenting with everything from soul, to pop, and dance music. He has received Global acclaim from heavy weights in the dance music scene, radio, and press alike. One unique trick John does to his tracks, he will release three different versions of each song he does to satisfy any house, dance, or club head alike in order to serve each persons musical tastes. He will produce an original radio mix, an atmospheric dub mix, and a synthesizm vocal mix making one track unique in three very different ways, which makes his music even more appealing to house fans! Look for his string of singles coming out this year!

Check out John Oudo and his band The Sound featuring Nicole Mitchell from Chicago, on one of his recent tracks, “Hold Me Tighter” (his radio mix version) and let us know what you think!

Anastacia Re-releasing ‘What We Can Do’

» In late December 2011, Dutch superstar DJ Tiesto and platinum-selling artist, Anastacia collaborated to release a House anthem titled “What We Can Do (A Deeper Love)”.

Even though Anastacia is a well-known name throughout the music world, the track was never credited as an official Anastacia release. Since this controversy, she has gone back into the studio and is now working with a different production team. The Heavyweights, whom have brought forth such R&B/Pop acts as Shontelle, Pussy Cat Dolls, and Guy Sebastian, are working on a more Soulful/Rock version of ‘What We Can Do’ to Anastacia’s credits.

Even so, Tiesto’s version is quite good, and her vocals fit the song. In case you may not have heard the Tiesto & Anastacia collaboration, below is the video to the track! Enjoy!

John Talabot Puts Heart In His Beats

Direct from Barcelona DJ/Producer John Talabot released his most creative endeavor to date on Tuesday! Tracks from fin this artists newest album have been leaking out since 2009 but it wasn’t until recently that the DJ pulled together enough work to release a proper album. According to a review by junodownload.com, ” ƒin is deeply rooted in house, yet it’s not a house album. In fact, it probably has more in common with IDM, electronica and new wave synth-pop…” The review goes on to describe that his track So will be now could be an early contender for track of the year due to it being his second of two collaborations with fellow artist Pional “Weighing in somewhere between deep acid house, future garage and blissful IDM, it features a distinctive, twisted vocal sample with echoes of Joy Orbison’s early work. Quietly building throughout, “So Will Be Now” is almost so beautiful it hurts. As the pitched-down vocal muses, “I hear a tender rhapsody”. It’s a fitting summary of a wonderful album.”

His latest single, Destiny came from a darker place but simultaniously bumps up against the tracks club-chic back rounds. According to Pitchfork.com “The dusky, sighing vocal line, however, is really what brings “Destiny” full circle, giving the track a Junior Boys-like vibe and further revealing the beating pop heart beneath Talabot’s productions.”

Let us here at Fusion know what you think about John Talabot and his track “So Will Be Now” below! Until next week Fusionites!

Swedish House Mafia in London

(Michelle Resendiz)

Swedish House Mafia killed it in London last Thursday night. Playing at London’s Roundhouse Theater the group enlightened dance music lovers with an epic one and a half hour set. Playing hits “Miami 2 Ibiza”, and vocalist John Martin joined the group onstage to lead an energetic sing-along of “Save the World,” their latest track.

The Small London Theater was home to some of Adele’s performances as well as the Foo-Fighters, so some argued that it wasn’t the place they would think of to see some dance acts. But to their surprise the Mafia fans packed into the small theater 30 minutes before showtime.

The Mafia’s crazy lifestyle and party atomosphere has thier fans happy and always ready for the after party. They seemed to have the most fun, however, when they mixed it up with their own verses of R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion,” Lady Gaga’s “Judas” and the Police’s “Voices Inside My Head.”  Thanks Swedish House Mafia for always putting on a good show, and showing us how to start the party!
