Thank you IntheMix.com for this awesome news on my favorite dance act Above & Beyond! Hearing about all these Aussie festivals makes me want to move continents pronto… take a look at the great news about Creamfields 2012
Totem Onelove is already looking ahead to its next venture: Creamfields2012.
Back in November it was revealed that world-conquering Frenchman David Guetta will be headlining the tour – no doubt accompanied by an eye-popping light and pyrotechnics show – and now there’s another huge name to start the hype early. After a triumphant headline tour just a couple of months ago, trance heavyweights Above & Beyond will be back to conquer the Creamfields mainstage!
To get some more info on the festival, and some great Above & Beyond facts visit In the Mix.com . They also have some information about some other tours they are doing in the UK, and their 400th episode of its Trance Around The World radio show! First I wanted to share some really awesome lyrics with you guys. This song ‘Liquid Love‘ is my all time favorite dance track, and it just so happens our Above & Beyond chaps are the masterminds behind the song. I love it, you should check it out…
Above & Beyond
Liquid love
I wait 4 you my love…
I ache for you my love…
Call this a liquid love
Rain down at me
Your love slips thru my hands
These streets like sinkin’ sands
Drowning a liquid love
Rain down at me
I call out you name
Your love is chasing thru my veins
Such a foolish game
Your love’s no good for me, good for me
But it makes my happy
I wait 4 you my love…
I ache for you my love…
Call this a liquid love
Rain down at me
I call out your name
Your love is chasing thru my veins
Such a foolish game
Your love’s no good for me, good for me
Then it makes my happy

Way too often dance music doesn’t get the credit it deserves. Think about it guys, country music gets an entire awards show dedicated to them… sure we have some kick-ass festivals, and some really epic artists. Not all is bad news though, we have made leaps and strides in Television in the last couple years.
With that said take a look at some of the Dance Artists nominated for a Grammy Award this year!I know I was really excited to see a lot of my favorite artists in there. 2012 is already heating up to be another great year for dance music. Here’s this years Dance music award nominees:

Skrillex is up against Bon Iver, Nicki Minaj, The Band Perry and J. Cole – a mixed bunch if ever there was one. Usually dance music is neatly confined to the Best Dance Recording category, so this is a significant moment if you count these kinds of moments as significant.
Skrillex does also appear in the Best Dance Recordings nominees, alongside fellow top-earners like David Guetta and Deadmau5. Robyn’s Call Your Girlfriend is in there breaking up the boys’ club as well.

Its been a couple weeks since David Guetta was voted number one over at DJ Mag, and the world been in a little bit of an uproar over their favorite contender being beaten out this year. Guetta beat out Armin Van Buuren for the first time in years at the number one slot.
David Guetta on winning
“I don’t know how many years trance DJs have been No.1? I have a lot of respect for what those guys have done. But I’m happy for myself, and also think that maybe it gives hope to a lot of DJs playing house and electro. Our music is so big at the moment, as simultaneously there are people like me and Tiësto and the Swedish House Mafia who are really crossing over, and at the same time you have this crazy underground scene that is exploding also.”
According to the sources the fans aren’t taking this switch off too well. After being Booed at the Amsterdam awards ceremony… The backlash was so sustained that DJ Mag wrote on Facebook last week: “DJ Mag is merely the guardian of the poll. It does not reflect our taste in music.” Here’s some more information about what the Dj’s have to say about it. According to In The Mix.com.AU.
Armin van Buuren on the criticisms of John Askew and John ‘00’ Fleming about the current state of trance
“I haven’t really read about it. All I know is, I hugely respect them both. The way I see it, it’s a little bit of history repeating. In the early ‘90s, we only had house music and from that came rave, techno, and even trance. Now you have different kinds of trance, like prog trance, hard trance, psy-trance, vocal trance, uplifting trance, house trance, or ‘trouse’ as some call it. Every genre has its haters and fans. It’s called evolution.”
David Guetta on whether his team-up with Avicii could be called ‘Trouse’
“I understand what you mean – bringing the melodic side of trance and putting it into a house music groove, it probably speaks to an even wider audience. As much as I was never into trance I appreciated the melodic side of it, the chord progressions – it’s emotional music. That part of that music I always thought was really good, but I didn’t like the drums and the bassline.”
