But in a surprising move, the company that brought country club duds to prominence in the late 1960s has gone Swedish. In fact, they’ve gone Swedish house.

Men’s Fashion Monday: Power of the Suit

(Michelle Resendiz)

The power that a suit jacket can have is very important, and not only that ,”The Suit” has transformed so much over the years… it’s becoming more acceptable for all ages, and types of people. Sure, everyone’s a critic, and more often than not ‘monkey suit’ or other snarky comments are made, but now I see more damper and stylish men pulling those sport coats out of the closet than I have in years. Here are some ways to incorporate your suit jacket into your everyday wardrobe.

Guys are doing it all over Hollywood, matching a great pair of jeans with a suit jacket. It’s stylish, and an easy way to dress up a comfy outfit.  There are keys to pulling this off and I suggest making sure that your jacket fits your correctly.

For example, the sleeves; Are they too long? too short? can you hug yourself without cutting off circulation to your shoulders?  -Or- what about the length? A suit jacket (aka: sport coat) should sit right around the butt or hip line, if its too long or too short the look could be a disaster. When you purchase your jacket I suggest consulting with the sales team at the store they will find you a great fit.

Pairing your jacket with a great pair of jeans is a must. The jean fit is important too.  Make sure that your jeans are not too baggy, not to tight, and definitely not the skinny style. With ‘the suit jacket’ look the best jeans to pair it with is a boot cut style -or- a straight leg style.

Men’s Fashion Monday: The Relaxed

(Michelle Resendiz)

Everyone has “Monday disease” you know you do… that dreadful wake up and back to work routine, the start of a new week, the “here we go all over again’s”. Don’t let the Monday blues get to you! Think of things that relax you and keep you positive, and I know just the trick…. some comfortable clothes.

Sometimes all you want is to wear a comfy soft cotton shirt and some jeans. True Religion has a soft cotton V-neck Vintage fashion tee that’s bound to make anyone feel relaxed. It has that ‘worn-sheer  cotton blend’ which gives it that vintage look, and feels good on the skin.

People tend to try too hard on the relaxed look -or- not hard enough. You don’t want to put too much effort into it because then its pointless, and not relaxing anymore. But, you also don’t want to put no effort into it because then it just looks sloppy and careless. Here’s a tip: keep it simple… just a nice white button down Henley and a crisp pair of jeans will do the trick.
