How many times have we gone into the salon and just picked something out of the book? OR how many times have we gone in just thinking “eh, just give me a trim” on your already boring hairstyle? DONT DO THAT THIS YEAR! Change it up a bit, and feel better doing it. There’s a million styles out there for guys, and I’m going to show you which ones are the best for you!
Just like women, the right hair style can improve a man’s appearance instantly. When choosing men’s hair styles you’ll want to pay attention to the trends out there, as well as what style works best with your hair. Work with YOUR hair being the key here! Do you have curls? Don’t fight with them! Is your hair thinning out a little bit as you get older? Don’t fight with that either… find something that works for YOU.
First- Figure out what shape is your face. (Do you need help with this? E-mail me.. I’ll help you Michelle@fusionradio.fm) Depending on your face shape your style will be different, and use your style to advantage you. We all want the best look for us- so use the styles out there and modify them for your own personal use. For example: Do you have a larger forehead? Cut some bangs into that style.
Rocking Celebrity Hair:
JARED PADALECKI, Jared is one half of the Demon hunting brothers on Supernatural. He rocks the longer locks better than anyone in Hollywood! Many of us Swoon over his all American boy attitude, and Texas charm. He owns this hairstyle, and millions of hearts all over the world with this puppy dog eyes… I’m sure if you ask the Supernatural Fans- they will never let their brother duo ever cut their hair, ever. Which brings me to my next top guy…
JENSEN ACKLES, Jensen is the other half of the CW’s hit show Supernatural. (airs Friday’s on the Cw Network) And, unlike his co-star, he likes his hair short, stylish, and to the point. For the ‘short and chic’ Jensen surely tops the list preferring to keep his hair short and slightly messy. This Supernatural hottie, with tough-guy looks, makes everyone’s heart skip a beat. His witty one liners, and charming attitude makes us fall in love with him over and over again. With a huge fan following all over the world, Jensen Ackles, is certainly a good competition for many guys on the block.
HUGH JACKMAN, Hugh’s Studly demeanor and sexy accent gets our hearts pumping! He makes the medium hairstyle look like a million bucks with wearing it volumized, and practically product-less. For Hugh’s look, add a volume serum to wet locks, turn your head over and blow dry, then piece it back with some lightweight wax/pomade. There are some really great men’s products out now by Redken and American Crew. Michelle’s fave product: Redken’s Polish up Pomade. (Available in salon’s nationwide check Redkens website for a salon near you that sells their products.)
Some other Great cuts? Check out Adam Lambert’s awesome style. I, personally, think Adam is one of the only dudes I’ve seen that can rock eyeliner better than me… and that says a lot. I love Adam, and his “kiss my butt” attitude. He rocks a style all of his own, and his haircut is even hotter. Try his messy bed-head look the next time you go to get a cut!
Today, on our new Men’s Fashion Segment, we are going to give out more free advice. If you remember in last weeks segment ( http://blogs.fusionradio.fm/fusion/2011/02/mens-fashion-back-to-basics/ ) We talked about the amazing A.J Buckley, and the super sexy Jensen Ackles, and how they accent an outfit using the right accessories. You can too, and I encouraged you to follow their style to get some good ideas on what you should start to add first. Start with the Basics, then once you get a style going then you can get a little crazy with it.
Lets learn what to sweat about this week! This week I’m going to teach you to sweat SOME of the small stuff… not everything. There is a couple of things that are really important in Fashion and, believe it or not, in the Men’s Fashion dept they are REALLY important. Like shoes, accessories, the right fit on anything really, and how well you put together the ensemble. For example: Your shoe choice… Shoes pull an outfit together. You could be perfectly styled form head to toe, but if you are wearing a bad pair of shoes the whole effort was for nothing. Shoes are personal. They have to fit your style and compliment your outfit. Just let it be known, people will notice your shoes! So remember when you are picking the perfect shoe for yourself it needs to be comfy, fit your style, and try to pic a color that will match everything in your closet. I always suggest to have at least one good pair of black shoes, and nice pair of brown shoes, a kick-en pair of boots, and a comfy pair of sneakers. See Shoe Fetish’s are not just for Girls, or Sex and the City Fanatics!
Check out Josh and Fergie’s Cool new years style. They are under Fusion’s Spotlight this week for Men’s Fashion. Josh Duhamel is one of my faves on the *Stylish hotties list* and I, personally, love the color choices he makes. (Pictured at right) Josh wears a grey button down, and accents it with a white tie! Fantastic color choices. Kudos to the couple for looking great and fashionable together without doing that lame Britney and Justin “matching” thing.
Does everyone remember this CRAZY monstrosity? Yeah… PLEASE DONT TRY THAT AT HOME!! OK moving on.
Layering pieces adds texture and dimension to any outfit. A very easy way to layer is by piling on 3 items. Examples being: Dress Shirt,Vest, Blazer. Or Dress Shirt, Button Up Sweater, Jacket. My personal favorite on a guy is V-neck Tee, Flannel Button up, Zip up Hoodie/Jacket. Be aware of how many pieces you are layering, the key is to remember that you are not trying to add bulk! ( Read more: http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicagos-cheap-and-chic/2010/03/a-word-on-mens-fashion.html#ixzz1EF06jFlA I get a lot of awesome ideas from this blog. I usually tweak them with my own opinions as well, but for a basis of info they have it! )
Michelle’s pick of the week! Try on these amazing asymmetrical sweaters the next time you go to the store. They are super stylish and fashionable, and Flattering on a lot of different body types. Look for them at Macy’s and JCPenney. They are probably available at tons of stores, if you guys want all the lists. I can compile it for you.
The asymmetrical look is really popular again this season, and I can think of a million ways to wear it. These looks would look great on with a button down under it (pictured above)
. Or you could try it with a rugged jacket over it, or just by itself with a hot belt and some great fitting jeans (pictured at left) Either way you pair this piece is bound to get some heads turning.
Tune in next week for the Men’s Fashionable haircuts. Which look is the best for your face?

Men’s fashion is just as important as Women’s, but why isn’t there more time focused on it? Why are there 10 Fashion magazines focused on Women, and 2 focused on Men?
Look no more Fellas! Here’s the start of my weekly Men’s Fashion Segment. Its time to get back to the basics! What do you need to know before going shopping? I’ll tell you, and I’ll start with some key things that you need in your wardrobe to be Fashion Forward for 2011.
First things First! The right fit is key. weather you are buying jeans, a sweater, or a suit- make sure that it fits you properly. You can get fitted at most of your favorite retail stores; just ask!
Accessorize! Bracelets, rings, watches… that stuff wasn’t just made for Women ya know! Men in Hollywood wear the coolest man jewels. If you want to try it out, but don’t know where to start- that’s where I would start. Look at what the guys in Hollywood are wearing, and try to find something comparable that fits you. In turn, by doing that you are shopping around with a piece in mind, and before you know it you’ll know the ins and outs of men’s jewelry.
A.J Buckley for example always has some hot accessories to show off, and really knows how to put an outfit together. Start watching AJ he’ll show you the ropes.
OR Jensen Ackles… everything about this guy screams sex appeal. I think everyone could take a couple pointers from him! AND yes, he is living proof that guys CAN look hot in jean jackets. Jensen usually tops off his amazing outfits with a couple bracelets or a snazzy watch. We’ve noticed other than his wedding ring *hears hearts breaking all over the world* he also wears a silver ring on his other hand. So accessories can always pull an outfit together. Try adding those couple tricks to your wardrobe next time you hit the streets.
Stay tuned next week when we talk about some other tips to add to your closet!

In today’s society everyone wants to be trendy, fashionable, and up to date on all the looks. What better way to stay on top of it, other than following your favorite celeb’s and their great style?
I am going to tell you where you can get all the celebrity looks in all sizes! That’s right ladies, all the full-figured beautiful women among us want to achieve the same looks… and I am here to tell you how.

May 17, 2010: Danneel Harris and Jensen Ackles arriving at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in New York City today to attend NBC Universal's 2010 Upfront Presentation.
Danneel Harris is one of my fave female actress’ out there. She’s got style, she’s outside the box, and some delicious arm candy. I love the way she puts looks together so, of course, she’s my pick for this week.
Heres how to throw the ”Newlywed city chic” look together. First things first… the shoes! These industrial boots can make anything look trendy. Danneel’s are a little different, but these amazing boots from Torrid.com come in wide width and are made to fit a full-figured woman nicely.
Aunika Brown Combat Boot (Wide Width) Get ready for combat…or a trip to the mall in these urbane lace-up boots. made of man-made materials, and approx 1 1/4″ heel.
Barb Black Distressed Faux Suede Cowboy Boot (Wide Width) Yee-haw! These fabulous cowboy boots feature bronze studded wrap-around buckle straps with additional stud design on ankle.
Once you have the boots down the rest of the look is a snap. Try these tops from www.alloy.com. Whether you are a size 4 or a size 24 Alloy has the right look for you.
And finally, to complete this look all you need is some black leggings, or you can try Jeggings if you like the jean look better. Leggings in 2010 is the new black, they are everywhere. For the full-figured ladies try Lane Bryant, Torrid, Wal-mart, or Romans & Woman Within for ladies that need sizes up to 30/32. For our average/petite ladies try: Target, Express, Old Navy, or H&M.
Happy shopping! Remember, if you ever need any fashion advice see the guru!
