Zoe Badwi hits the #1 Spot on the Fusion Top 100 this week with her new song “Torches”. This song was the Official Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras ’2013 Theme, and it has since become a huge hit on Fusion Radio.  Zoe is expected to release her new album sometime this year!

8 reasons why the Chicagoland speedway in Joliet is Perfect for EDC

 First of all it’s important to note that “ravers” are not necessarily drug users. You probably wouldn’t find any more drugs in Raves than in your typical Hip Hop or Rock-and-Roll concerts. Drugs just tend to show up wherever you put several young people together in this country — it’s a rule that applies to every type of event ranging from your average house party to full blown concert. It’s not a problem exclusive to EDM culture.

 America itself has a drug problem and it’s no secret that many self-described “Candy Ravers” like to do drugs. However, it’s hypocritical of us to try to pin this problem exclusively on EDM culture and events, as some people are trying to do down in Miami with Ultra Music Festival. Modern EDM culture consists of a majority of regular people that are unsurprisingly normal. They get up and go to work everyday like you and me and they listen to their favorite music either on FM or their favorite internet station (ahem..Fusion Radio).

A recent gallop poll ranked America among the saddest countries with the least (GNH) Gross National Happiness out of the top wealthiest counties in the world. We give true meaning to the expression “money doesn’t buy happiness” . Maybe it’s about time that Americans embrace a happier culture. EDM culture embraces “PLUR”; peace, love, unity and respect. Perhaps mainstream society can learn a thing or two about those crazy “ravers” that society has come to look down upon.

Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) and their annual celebration of everything EDM will be taking place in Joliet, IL. Memorial Day Weekend. Chicago-land will have a unique opportunity to be a part of something much bigger than a concert … an entire Movement!

8 reasons why Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet is perfect for EDC Chicago.

1. most EDM lovers are used to travel.
first and foremost typical ravers are used to travel. Many of them are used to driving out to Indiana and Wisconsin for such gatherings. Joliet is just far enough to get a way but close enough to save on gas.

2. Traffic.
5-6pm used to be your typical “rush hour”. Now “rush hours” are from 3pm until at least 7pm in the city.

3. Lack of parking
Chicago lacks adequate parking spaces for the volume of people it hosts, it’s a well known fact for many Chicago-ans.

4. Parking Prices/Fines.
Street Parking at $4.75/hour with a limit of two hours with an Army of ticket enforcers (that won’t stop ticketing your car until you move it).

5. Camping made possible
Camping in downtown Chicago? It wouldn’t work.

6. Hotel prices
You’re either staying at a four star or a run down motel. Chicago “burbs” offer much better options.

7. Joliet’s Economy
EDC will bring in people from all over Chicago-land and the entire country into
the once quiet Joliet and they will need to buy things.

8. Capacity
Could they have crammed EDC into Soldier Field? sure, but why would they? when they can cram even more people into Chicago-land speedway in Joliet!

Sebastian Ingrosso is that rare thing in the world of dance music: a musician who understands the world of melodies just as much as he understands the power of the kick drum.
Sebastian’s father owned two record labels, and from the tender age of 14 Ingrosso could be found in the studio producing music.  His Music Influences include Steve Angello, Axwell, Eric Prydz, Lady Gaga and the Gorillaz to name a few.  This could be where his unique understanding of music comes from along with his years of studio experience.

From the first time we heard this weeks #1 song we knew it was a hit!  Keep up that great work Sebastian Ingrosso!

New Release: Kerli’s Latest Single & Video

The Bubblegum Goth artist debuted the first single from her second album for digital release Tuesday!

She completed the singles music video last month and released “Zero Gravity” less then twenty four hours ago!

Kerli and Demi’s ‘Skyscraper’

Kerli dishes the dirt on Demi Lovato’s hit ‘Skyscraper’. Kerli sat down recently with PopCrush.com and talked about her Co-penning some lyrics for ‘skyscraper’ and how they discovered the hit song’s motivation.

PopCrush recently had the pleasure of speaking with the 24-year-old ‘Army of Love’ songstress about co-penning the track for Lovato, and it turns out the entire track was inspired by one photo. “It was me, Lindy Robbins and Toby Gab. We were in the studio and Lindy came in and she was like, ‘We should write a song called ‘Skyscraper’,” Kerli tells us

“So I Googled ‘skyscraper’ because I’m always looking for images to write after,” she continued. “We found this picture where it was the apocalypse … The world had ended and there was this one skyscraper still standing. I was like, ‘Wow. We need to write after this picture.’ So on the picture exactly, the sun was coming out for the first time and it was raining. We totally zoned out and burned candles and totally wrote it after that picture.”

Demi, struggling with some of her own issues last year, sang the song remarkably and watched it climb to the top of the charts along with her peers. Respect and praise poured from everyone around her including Kerli.

Even though the song was originally written for Kerli, who has dubbed her musical style ‘Bubblegoth,’ she had no problem handing it over to Lovato. She explains, “Honestly, she sings it so much better and her story is so powerful and so inspiring to so many young kids out there. I don’t think I could’ve delivered that song better than she does — with the message and everything, [it's] just really powerful.”

“It’s so brave of her too to put a song like that out as her first single because nobody puts out a ballad,” Kerli says. “And to just go out there and in such a brave way talk about her struggle and everything, it’s really refreshing. I see a lot of kids getting a lot of help from her story, so I’m super, super happy to be part of this.”

Joining in the chorus of support are quite a few notable names, including pal Selena Gomez, Katy Perry and Kim Kardashian.

Pretty Little Liars actress Lucy Hale was one of the first to tweet, “just heard Skyscraper…at a loss…so inspiring”

Perry gushed, “The new song Skyscraper by @ddlovato is pure perfection. Her voice is one of the BEST undiscovered beauties. Can’t wait for the full record.”

Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz chimed in, “amazing when people put themselves into their art completely #np skyscraper by @ddlovato”

Fellow Disney doll Gomez offered her congratulations with, “SO, SO proud of @ddlovato #skyscraper Incredible, beautiful and so inspiring..”

High School Musical alum Ashley Tisdale wrote, “Loving @ddlovato new song #skyscraper. Her voice is absolutely amazing.”

American Idol’s Season 1 victor, Kelly Clarkson, said, “Ooh while on iTunes I bought Demi Lovato’s new song ‘Skyscraper’ …..cool song and her voice sounds rad!”

Jordin Sparks, another Idol alum, tweeted, “Go grab #Skyscraper by @ddlovato…GIRL you KILLED that! Thanks for keeping my bgvs on it! You’re gonna change hearts w/ this song! <3”

Though the track debuted with very little fanfare or promotion, Kardashian reminded her followers to keep an eye out for it “I am so excited to download @ddlovato new song #SKYSCRAPER! It’s out tonight! EVERYONE MUST DOWNLOAD IT!!! So proud of u Dem!” she wrote.
