Electric Daisy Carnival Chicago Announces Dates & Location

We have waited weeks for an official announcement from Insomniac events on when and where the the legendary EDM festival (Electric Daisy Carnival) will be Held. Today the official announcement was posted on Insomniacs website. The event will be May 24th – 26th (Memorial Day Weekend) at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL. The event will be 18+ to enter and 21+ to consume alcohol. The event spread out over 5 stages will have a capacity of over 300,000 people. 3 day general admission and VIP tickets will go on sale for EDC Chicago 2013 on Wednesday January 23rd at 12pm. As an added bonus it was also announced that for the first time at a EDC event tickets will be sold for camping. Chicago land speedway is located at 500 speedway Blvd. Joliet, IL. In the mix has some really amazing information regarding some of the acts (that are about to bring the house down) in March 2012. They talk about New Order, who hasn’t been in Aussie land since 2002! This amazing group is one of the most iconic acts on the list! Take a look at some of the highlights here…

At the top of the second line-up is a truly iconic act, New Order. The last time we saw the group in Australia was Big Day Out 2002, where they lit up the mainstage with a brilliant set-list. In fact, if you delve deep into the inthemix archives, you’ll find a glowing review from Sydney. “The vibe running through the reminiscing crowd was unforgettable,” our reviewer wrote. “In the closing minutes, the boys delivered the almighty Blue Monday in the setting sun.”

Festival Director Brett Robinson explained that New Order were the perfect band for Future’s 2012 edition, stating “New Order is one of the most influential bands of our time and with our festival direction being everything from electronica to indie rock and beyond, they are the perfect co-headliner for us and we can wait to see them gracing our stages.” As for the absence of one Peter Hook, Robinson continued “A band is bigger than any one member and in the case of New Order they represent an entire movement and an iconic moment in music that has become timeless and coveted.”

The Ultra Music Festival Phase One Released

Ultra Music Festival just released their phase one line up for March 2012! Tickets are on sale here, and make sure you keep up with the news because phase two is set to announce sooner than you think! 2011 was an incredible year for festivals and electronic music. With the New Year rapidly approaching, all eyes are focused on what’s to come next with the leader being ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL (ULTRA), the world’s premiere electronic music event. Tickets are moving at lightning speed, only a limited amount remain (with early bird and advance on-sale tickets selling out in record time), so the promoters are highly encouraging fans not to miss out by unveiling the majority of the ULTRA line up on the Phase 1 announcement.

ULTRA is also returning to downtown Miami with Bayfront Park as it’s new location in order to accommodate a larger footprint for increased capacity. Over the last few years, the festival took place at Bicentennial Park but after reaching record-breaking 150,000 in attendance this year, and becoming the first ever, and only 3-day music festival of its kind to completely sell out 150,000 tickets six weeks in advance, ULTRA is moving next door to the tropical, waterfront park nestled between Biscayne Bay and Biscayne Boulevard. The ULTRA team is taking it back to Bayfront, where it last took place in 2005, transforming and customizing the park in a way never seen before.
