Men’s fashion this fall is taking a slightly different turn from the other years. I think it’s important to teach you the In’s & Out’s every season. No one whats to be the only one at the ball without the proper attire. So, without further ado, lets get to it… shall we?
In: Prints, colors, and Nordic prints-
You might this these look like grandma’s ugly sweaters, but mark my words… you will be caught dead in these by mid October. Trust me…
In: Elbow patch sweaters & cardigans-
I can see where you might think that fashion is taking a turn for granny-ville but really that’s not whats going on here. The elbow patch sweaters and cardigans add a really nice pop of something different to your wardrobe.
In: Hoods that are more like big collars-
These warm hooded pull overs are not really your traditional hooded sweatshirts, and that’s why they are fabulous! Add one of these (or even 2) to your closet. Its warm, you don’t need a scarf, and its going to look good with almost anything.
I’m sure this is pretty self explanatory. Of course knits are in! It’s cold outside, you have to keep warm, they have the most function for your fashion… need I say more?
In: Military Cardigans-
These are totally hot. I really don’t have a better reason, but imagine this cardigan with a black v-neck, some jeans, a black belt, and some snazzy boots. YES!
Ed Hardy- out out and OUT! Unless you live in the Jersey Shore, and even then, you may want to contemplate a life changing decision. Just seriously stop it! You look ridiculous…
Jersey shore hair-dos- no… just don’t do it. JUST SAY NO TO DOUCHY HAIR!
This years Fall Fashion is coming too soon. I feel like, lately, the season’s have been blowing out as soon as they flew in! So lets embrace what we have left of this summer, live it up, and no regrets. Fall style is easy, and one of the less planned styles of the seasons. So, without having to jump too hard into coats and mittens, lets preview what fall has in store for us… shall we?
FLARE JEANS- Ive been seeing them everywhere lately, and I have to admit, I don’t know whether to be excited about this or-not. I love my skinny jeans, and I don’t think anything will ever be as comfy as my leggings, but flare jeans are supposed to be easier to wear and better for a curvy figure so they say. I think I’ll give them a try this fall. Don’t knock it until you try it they say… so I’ll get back to you on my flared attitude.
SOUTH WEST INSPIRATIONS- I have to be honest I’m really excited about this one. I love that poncho, southwest feel to everything. This O’neill sweater will be on my list of purchases for this fall. I love the versatility of the fabric and the print. You can pull this off with denim, Or my favorite leggings too! They have more Southwest prints online at WhitneyEve.com. You know, and while you are checking into the southwest prints take some time to look at the ponchos around the net. I think that also falls in the ‘southwest’ category, and can look really classy with some boots.
CHUNKY CABLE KNITS- It seems like every year the chunky cable knits come in, and are here to stay until Spring! I, personally, love this style of knit… its so easy to be comfortable and warm in a nice cuddly sweater. Who wouldn’t love that? To buy some great chunky knits this fall check out Tommy Hilfiger’s new collection at www.Tommy.com.
Or, you can check out what Old Navy has to show off… Here, pictured above, is the open crochet knit sweater from OldNavy.com. They have some great pull over sweaters to choose from in amazing fall colors.
Stella McCartney has the traditional cable knit cardigan for Fall 2011. It looks comfortable, classy, and again you can pull this cardigan off with almost anything depending on the look that you are going for. Thank you Stella!
There are, of course, new ways to re-invent the original great products. Everyone is always looking for new ways to do what was done before. You know, that whole ‘I can do anything you can do- but better’ thing. Here’s more of the cable knits but in different ‘New and Improved’ ways. Here is a Nicole Farhi Cable knit shrug. Its the same great knit but its going from left to right instead of up and down. Very neat and crisp looking edge to a classy standard.
MAKE UP TIPS- They say that make-up is ever changing, hard to manipulate, and not mastered by the normal ‘type A’ hand. I say NO. I do not agree. I believe that with the right practice we could all be make-up professionals -or- at least look like we know how to apply it.
This fall watch out for the Matte collections. Usually this applies to Red lips, and in this case it does… but this time they are matte’ing and mute’ing out the lids too.
You have to remember like the season, there’s always more than one thing trending. It goes that way with make up too. Here’s another trending look that you could try, which is very different from our last muted look. Gemstone eyes are popping up all over the fall fashion pages in magazines. Check out the Fall 2011 Beauty Report at Sephora for tons of new colors to try. www.Sephora.com
