Glee star Mark Salling could probably make a potato sack look sexy. Taking some fashion tips from this Dallas, TX native would be my Men’s Fashion Suggestion of the Week.
Pictured Above, we see Mark all decked out and layered up at Guess to promote his CD Pipe Dreams last November. When it comes to fall style it’s all about the layers, which is exactly what he accomplished in his look. He layered flannel, a grey hooded sweat shirt, and a leather moto jacket. You can try this look -or- I encourage you to find some layers of your own like these guys did below.

Everyone has “Monday disease” you know you do… that dreadful wake up and back to work routine, the start of a new week, the “here we go all over again’s”. Don’t let the Monday blues get to you! Think of things that relax you and keep you positive, and I know just the trick…. some comfortable clothes.
Sometimes all you want is to wear a comfy soft cotton shirt and some jeans. True Religion has a soft cotton V-neck Vintage fashion tee that’s bound to make anyone feel relaxed. It has that ‘worn-sheer cotton blend’ which gives it that vintage look, and feels good on the skin.
People tend to try too hard on the relaxed look -or- not hard enough. You don’t want to put too much effort into it because then its pointless, and not relaxing anymore. But, you also don’t want to put no effort into it because then it just looks sloppy and careless. Here’s a tip: keep it simple… just a nice white button down Henley and a crisp pair of jeans will do the trick.

August, they say, is one of the hottest months of the year for some of us. Lately it seems like the heat has been taking the country by storm… yet the Fashion Industry is pounding the runway in turtle-necks, cardigans, boots, and jackets. Here’s my preview into what I think is going to be trending for Fall.
My first fall trend is the mixture of classic colors. Here in this photo you see Brown, white, blue and light brown all put together very well. Try pairing colors together that look good on their own. Like the infamous brown/black combo. I dare you.
Bold haircuts and bold statement pieces are hard to pull off, but I feel like with the right knowledge of your body you can learn what looks good on you. Round faces look different in layers than long faces. First learn your face shape, then learn what traits you have that you need to accent. It’s all about accepting who you are, feeling good in your own skin, and accenting your good traits. I think this fall we are going to be seeing a lot of statement accessories on you boys, along with some bold hair-looks.
Dressy casual is going to be the feel on the streets. Think patterned ties with sweaters over them. I also belive you can pull off flannel/checkered dress shirt, with a solid tie, and a wool sweater.
Flannel and caridgans with interesting buttons also will bring some attention to the boys of fall. I believe that chunky bulky cardigans are going to be in. Don’t be afraid this fall colors are going to be a little more muted so I feel like brown’s, rust’s, black, navy’s are going to be in… which means good for us. I think that these colors are all veristile and can look great on any of us!

Guys take a minute to look at John Varvatos hes styled the best of the best, and been involved in some of the best shoe creations by far this millennium. He’s been in the press everywhere from The Wall Street Journal, Details, to Vanity Fair and is on the fast track to success. Here’s some of my Favorites from his site http://www.johnvarvatos.com/
These Chuck Taylor Oxfords by Converse & John Varvatos, are a web exclusive, so you can only get them online. They are $125.00 and leather! Here’s the details according to the site; Web exclusive classic style has distressed premium leather with just the right amount of nostalgia for a revamped retro feel.
These Limited addition Studded Chuck Taylor hi-top shoes are also available online and for $200.00 this might not be the most frugal choice, but it definitely is the more ‘bad boy’ choice… nothing screams bad boy more than these. Here’s the stats right from the site; Limited Edition studded canvas Chuck Taylor high-top sneaker. These kicks feature antique nickel pyramid studs and flat stud detail, pinstripe lining, leather laces and a burnished rand gel outsole.
Are you not really a sneakers kinda guy? I have the perfect boot. I love these Multi-Prong Bowery boots they are made in Italy and are definitely a Splurge item coming in at a whopping $750.00 I would think twice about letting your best friend borrowing them. Here’s the stats; Fine Italian calf skin leather is used to create the Bowery Multi-Prong Boot. The boots are garment dyed to achieve a soft leather hand and vintage look. A
refined pin and whole fastening system closes the boot on the lateral side. Made in Italy.

I believe it all started one day with CKone and it just took off from there. Now girls can wear almost everything that boys can. Think about how many Uni-sex things that are out there… I’ve seen so many women now wearing ‘boyfriend blazers’ , the relaxed fit ‘boyfriend jeans’, and now the ‘boat shoe’. The Boat shoe was invented in 1935 by Paul Sperry (of Sperry Top-Siders) a company that is still around (making great shoes) today!
Girls and guys can both enjoy the look of boat shoes this summer. They manufacture and sell them at almost all major retailers, and are popular among Americans as well as the Euro fashions. Try DSW, Macy’s, and Aldos for some good buys.
Tommy Hilfiger and Old Navy also sell some great styles for guys and gals. I, personally, love the Flannel pair that Tommy just put out this summer.
I think your new summer must have accessory just hit the streets… and the thing I love the most is that its versatile for both genders. Everyone looks awesome in boat shoes! Go get your pair today!
Happy shopping!
(Michelle Resendiz)
I know, I know…. how could you even think about wearing a COAT right now? It’s summer, which means, its hot and muggy. However, there are fashionable styles that can be worn in all weather. For example, the sport coat. The sport coat is also known as the blazer, the boyfriend-blazer, etc. It’s even been more acceptable for women to wear in the last 2 years. Look around you… the sport coat is it, and they make summer styles!
The coats are definitely ‘in’ for the working male, however that doesn’t mean its limited to that. Guys can look nice heading out on the town too! Michelle’s coat ensemble idea? Pair some white jeans with an oxford button up, and a lightweight navy blazer. Add in some boat shoes… paired with some great friends and a night out in the city, and I just made your match-made-in-heaven!
Where can I go to buy it? Try J.Crew, Urban Outfitters, Macy’s, and Express for some really stylish threads! Are you on a budget? Try Target, JcPenney, or Marshall’s!
I’ll be the first one to tell you I’m a sucker for a “Hottie in a Hoodie” they have special powers. I’m serious! Think about it… the hoodie is always in style, they are for every season, and look fashionable on anyone at any size. Hoodies are perfect for summer- paired together with some Bermuda shorts, a V-neck t-shirt, and some snazzy shoes. And, dont even get me started on the layering effect. Everyone should know by now that creating layers will slim you.
So, here’s some cute hoodies I found online this week! Check em out!
This hoodie is available at 21men.com for under $30.00 its called ‘the burnout’ and perfect with these shorts…
I personally love these 80′s inspired shorts from 21men.com. Go check em out! They really have some awesome summer items.
