Ultra 2014 “Early Bird Tickets” Now on Sale!

Ultra Music Festival has just released the sale of their “early bird” tickets for the 2014 fest! “Ultra Music Festival 2014 will take place during the last weekend in March, from Friday March 28 through Sunday March 30 in Miami, Florida during Miami Music Week, reports the UNTZ.”

Early Bird Tickets for 2014 went on sale on Tuesday, May 21 2013 at 1pm. For now, they are priced at $149.95 for general admission. I’m sure the ticket prices will go up, as they do every year, so this early bird chance is a great deal! You can visit ULTRA to get your tickets.

ULTRA  has won “Best Music Event” by the International Dance Music Awards  (IDMA) six consecutive years, from 2005 to 2011, “Best International  Dance Music Festival” by the Ibiza DJ Awards in 2008 and “Best Festival”  by the Village Voice Media New Times consecutively five years running  from 2005 through 2009.

Originally created as a pure EDM (electronic dance music) festival in 1999, ULTRA has grown through the years to present  not only the genre’s hottest, biggest and best headline artists (The  Prodigy, Swedish House Mafia, The Chemical Brothers, Tiësto, David  Guetta, deadmau5, Underworld, Kraftwerk, Armin van Buuren, Moby, Fatboy  Slim, Justice, Carl Cox and Avicii to name a few), but also crossover headline bands that  incorporate EDM elements in their music and have a history or new  beginning in the EDM community and culture (The Cure, Snoop Dogg, Hot  Chip, Crystal Castles, The Killers, New Order, Duran Duran, The Black  Eyed Peas, Erasure, M83, Santigold, The Ting Tings, Cut Copy, Empire of the Sun and Bloc Party).

Get to know David Guetta

David Guetta is everyone’s favorite DJ. What you may not know is how serious he takes his craft, he is a true artist. He has worked with some of the most amazing artists in the business. Recently David was feature on Vevo Certified, and the outcome was awesome. I love getting an inside look at some of the worlds best Dance artists.

Take a look down memory lane with David via Vevo Certified.

#VEVOCERTIFIED artist David Guetta is interviewed about the process of making videos and the particular titles that have earned over 100 MM views. He tells us that making videos helped turn DJs into artists. “Daft Punk and Cassius were investing in the image” he says, “and it made it more of a complete art.” He provides commentary on “I Can Only Imagine,” “Sexy Bitch,” Titanium” and “Turn Me On.”

#VEVOCERTIFIED artist David Guetta recounts how dance music went from an underground culture started in gay clubs to the sound of mainstream pop in 2013. He explains the impact of seeing a DJ front and center on stage rather than hidden to the side for the first time in a London disco. At that point he went back to his home in Paris and started his own parties at clubs

VEVO chose several CERTIFIED superfans of David Guetta to explain why they love the French producer’s music. They name their favorite tracks and tell us how his music makes them feel when they’re at a show. The #VEVOCERTIFIED artist also explains the connection he feels with his fans when he’s making music in front of them.

You’ve got to check this out, I’ll admit it was not the usual that I’m used to hearing from them, but all in all its good to see some new music hitting the airwaves. Ahead of her forthcoming debut album, U.K. singer-songwriter Neon Hitch has unveiled a new EP, “Happy Neon,” launching exclusively on Billboard.com

Produced by Neon Hitch and Happy Perez, “Happy Neon” marks a stopgap between breakout singles such as “Fuck U Betta” and her Gym Class Heroes collaboration “Ass Back Home” and her Warner Bros. Records debut album. After a mutual friend connected the singer with Perez (who previously produced Frank Ocean’s standout mixtape cut “We All Try”), the duo hunkered down on new material together and ended up creating a standalone release.  “We locked ourselves in the studio for a week and just made music constantly,” Hitch recalls. “It turned out to be this whole EP, and there’s no way we couldn’t call it ‘Happy Neon.’”

Fusion Radio Top 100 01-14-2013

Is it just us or is the Fusion Playlist getting HOT?!  This week Michael Woods Ft. Ester Dean “We’ve Only Just Begun” Hits the #1 spot on Fusion Radio!  We love the vocals from Ester Dean and can’t wait for her next music release.   The #2 spot went to David Morales & Polina “Stay”, #3 is Nervo & Hook N Sling “Reason”.  Our #4 spot is a brand new track on Fusion Radio “I Could Be The One” with Superstar DJ’s Avicii and Nicky Romero!   If this is any sign of whats to come in 2013 we I think you might all be blown away.  Keep up the great work Dance Artists and Fans!  Here is the rest of the Top 100 Chart for the week of 01-14-2013.

David Guetta, Tiesto, Avicii Pack for Miami!

This Ultra Music Festival line up is becoming nothing short of INSANE! Where can you see hot bodies, good music, huge record breaking artists all in one place? MIAMI 2013 baby!!

Guetta, Tiesto, and Avicii were just added to the line up along with (as previously announced) Swedish House Mafia, who will end their “One Last Tour” at Ultra. The first round of artists were released via Billboard.com this week and we cannot stop the excitement from flowing.

Downtown Miami’s Bayfront Park will play host to Ultra over the weekends of March 15-17 and March 22-24. It’s the first year of the expanded festival.

 

Other DJs scheduled to perform include Armin van Buuren, Avicii, Above & Beyond, Afrojack, Bassnectar, Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim, Kaskade, Knife Party and Richie Hawtin. Live sets by Boys Noize, Crystal Castles, Hot Chip, Matt & Kim and Yeasayer are also on tap.

 

More DJs and live acts will be announced in a “phase 2″ announcement coming soon. A limited amount of tickets are still available at the festival’s website.

 

Ultra is the centerpiece of Miami Music Week and this edition marks the festival’s 15-year anniversary.

 

Last year’s festival featured headliner performances from EDM heavyweights David Guetta, Armin van Buuren and Kaskade, but the biggest moment came courtesy of Madonna, who made a surprise appearance with then-newcomer Avicii.

Fusion Spotlight: Anna Grace “Alive”

There’s always those songs that bring you back to a place where your hair was blowing in the wind, the sound of the music around you gave you goosebumps, and you would give anything to re-live that moment again. One of those moments for me is this song right here. Anna Grace is “Alive” with this song, and we know why, because she makes us come alive! The beat, the sound, the words… this is a great dance song.

I hope we can all listen as it takes us back to a place in time where we remember something great. Ready Fusionites? Get your travel gear, and we are about to travel back in time to a magical moment in your life!

New Music from some Leading Ladies

Our buddies over at Allure of sound.com have some great mixes that I just had to share. There are always going to be some ‘Leading Ladies’ in the dance music world that will maybe re-release a remix of an old favorite. Or, come out with a new hit! Either way, they always seem to blow my mind, and now lets see what our Fusionites think shall we?

The Manufactured Superstars, an electro, progressive, and house music DJ/production duo made up of Brad Roulier and Shawn Sabo, have done just that with the Annie Lennox classic “Little Bird”. They have given the song an update and transformed it into a feel good club anthem. I have always been a fan of the original version of “Little Bird”, which was released as a single from Annie’s album Diva in 1993. The song was officially remixed by the Utah Saints back then, but the Manufactured Superstars mix is my new fave.

I love that version of ‘Little Bird’, but that’s not even the best part! Take a look at these cool remixes by our resident queen Miss Kylie Minogue.

DJ Dan Murphy has shared two fantastic remixes of Kylie Minogue’s “Timebomb”. But wait, it gets better….he is offering them for free download. Apparently, the remixes were officially commissioned, but not used. “Well we found out today that our remixes for Kylie Minogue’s “Timebomb” didn’t end up being used on the EP,” the DJ wrote on Facebook. “However, we can now share them so you can finally hear what they’re like!”

The remix package for “Timebomb”, which includes mixes from Dada, Peter Rauhofer, Italia3, Steven Redant & Phil Romano and Style Of Eye, will be released via iTunes in the United States on Tuesday

Madonna’s Super bowl Performance

So did we all see Madonna’s Super Bowl  performance this past Sunday? If you did you would know that the Queen of Pop highlighted the show with three of her biggest hits! Madge also debuted her new single from her soon to be released album MDNA!

 With dancers, a gospel choir, a marching band, and guest appearances by M.I.A, Nicki Menaj, LMFAO, and Cee lo Green, the material girl herself displayed that she can put on a ridiculous display of entertainment in just twelve minutes, satisfying even the beer chugging, pork rind eating masses!  Check out her latest music video that accompanies her newest single, Give Me All Your Lovin’ featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A (without her flpping the bird)!
