We have waited weeks for an official announcement from Insomniac events on when and where the the legendary EDM festival (Electric Daisy Carnival) will be Held. Today the official announcement was posted on Insomniacs website. The event will be May 24th – 26th (Memorial Day Weekend) at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL. The event will be 18+ to enter and 21+ to consume alcohol. The event spread out over 5 stages will have a capacity of over 300,000 people. 3 day general admission and VIP tickets will go on sale for EDC Chicago 2013 on Wednesday January 23rd at 12pm. As an added bonus it was also announced that for the first time at a EDC event tickets will be sold for camping. Chicago land speedway is located at 500 speedway Blvd. Joliet, IL. EDC Chicago Tweeted on December 13th that the possibility for the the 2013 event could be Soldier Field (On the Chicago Lake Front), Chicago Land Speedway (50 miles outside the City of Chicago), or Toyota Park (25 Miles outside the City of Chicago). The EDC Chicago twitter feed did say it confirmed the 300,000+ person venue. So lets break down which one of these venues could hold that many people.
*Soldier Field’s Capacity is 61,500 people in the stands, its possible for another 5,000 or so to fit on the field.
*Chicago Land Speedway’s Capacity is $75,000 and sits on 930 acres of land which can hold more than 50,000 cars in its parking lots.
*Toyota Park’s Capacity is 28,000 for concerts, and only has a 6,000 car capacity in its 3 parking lots!
If I had to bet on which venue was going to be hosting the 300,000+ person crowd I would say it has to be Chicago Land Speedway! 75,000 people in the stands, room for 50,000 cars, and don’t forget all of the space on the track level. I guess we will have to wait till January 16th for the final answer to where EDC Chicago will be held.

America’s Best DJ summer tour kicks off this month with stops in Detroit, San Francisco, Baltimore, and Los Angeles. The tour is presented by Pioneer and has some heavy hitting DJ’s rocking the streets. Dj Skribble, Eric Morillo, Colette, BT, Bassnectar, and Skrillex are only some of the amazing DJ’s mixing it up.

Kelly Rowland is set to release a new album next week July 26th to be exact! Kelly’s also been featured on a ‘Sexy Abs’ collaboration along with Jeanette Jenkins. Her much anticipated new album features her new single ‘modivation’ and Rowland described the new album as containing a lot of “up-tempo tracks” and being “a mixture of different sounds that express me and where I’m at right now in my career”. The album is known to include collaborations with David Guetta and Rico Love , which includes the album’s lead single “Commander”, It was Rowland’s third number-one hit on the Hot Dance Club Songs chart.

Now-a-days standing out in a crowd is sought after, and being different is being unique and respected. Thanks to Katy Perry unique/crazy nails is no longer OUT. Some people might argue that obscene nail art is ridiculous to be sporting around, and even I can agree that I’ve seen some take it over the top…
Here are some TRENDY not tacky ways to get the perfect nail art tricks done at home, and at half the cost.
Everyone wants to save money this summer, and how much is a manicure.. after the tip and the design it could go up to 20 buckaroos! Here’s my summer suggestion: Every other manicure do it at home… Instead of going to the salon every 2 weeks go once a month.
Don’t tell me that you cant do it because they have so many easy ways to make your nails look like amazing! Try the Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens they come in 11 different colors, and its so easy to use! You could also try the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail-Polish Strips they are available in over 20 different shades and are completely effortless. Once you get the hang of the application its so easy to apply you could almost do it with your eyes closed.
For summer, I’m going to suggest the fruit inspired nails! These looks are easier than they seem. Just try a couple different ways and I know you will get the hang of it. For the Strawberry Inspiration: start off with a pinky red all over the nail, Then add a dark green at the tips, and use your nail art pen to add the yellow seeds. Just add topcoat, and you are all set! You could even add a glitter top coat for some extra bling.
Same thing goes for the Watermelon inspiration: use a pinkish red on the base, add a green color on your tip, then use your nail art pen in white to line just above the green tip, follow that up with your nail art pen in black to do your seeds… and Tada we have a watermelon ladies and gents! Don’t forget your topcoat either… you always must use your topcoat.
The polka-dot nail is also in for summer. I suggest any bright color as a base, use your nail art pen to dot all over the nail, then your top coat. Pictured above they decided to add a dark color at the top of the nail for a french manicure inspired look, you could do that as well!
For this flowered Cherry blossom look I’m going to point you in the direction of Sephora. This look is definitely not for our ‘beginner’ nail artists, but I believe with some practice everyone can do it. Sephora also has some great looks on their website that are super stylish! This summer the heat is getting to all of us. Here are some quick easy ways you can beat the heat, and the UV rays. One of the leading causes today of skin cancer is from poor tanning and sunburns. Be Careful out there! Be smart about the sun, and Don’t forget the care for your skin now will pave your future.
SUNGLASSES : This has to be one of my biggest obsessions, and they save you from the harsh sun-rays. I get most of my shades from small end stores like Urban Outfitters, Target, or Macy’s but if you don’t mind spending some cash on your shades Sun-glass Hut always has the best new styles.
SUNSCREEN : If you are going to be out in the sun you HAVE have on some sunscreen. You will thank me later, believe me. I can’t stress to you how important the sunscreen is. They say minimum of SPF 15 is needed.
SHORTS : Right now the Bermuda shorts are in. Take advantage of it! They are there to make you feel comfortable, and they really look good on everyone. Just be glad mini shorts aren’t in-style right now. Bermudas are your friend!
SANDALS : The perfect shoe for summer…. the sandal! They have so many styles you can wear one with anything you have on. From flip flops to gladiators… you name it, I can find one for you.
TANK TOPS : In the summer time its really important to stay cool, so, even if you don’t like the “tank top look” try to find shirts that don’t over heat you. Avoid dark colors, and heavy prints. Think smart-its summer. So… go with light colors, airy materials, and stay cool people!

I know, I know…. how could you even think about wearing a COAT right now? It’s summer, which means, its hot and muggy. However, there are fashionable styles that can be worn in all weather. For example, the sport coat. The sport coat is also known as the blazer, the boyfriend-blazer, etc. It’s even been more acceptable for women to wear in the last 2 years. Look around you… the sport coat is it, and they make summer styles!
The coats are definitely ‘in’ for the working male, however that doesn’t mean its limited to that. Guys can look nice heading out on the town too! Michelle’s coat ensemble idea? Pair some white jeans with an oxford button up, and a lightweight navy blazer. Add in some boat shoes… paired with some great friends and a night out in the city, and I just made your match-made-in-heaven!
Where can I go to buy it? Try J.Crew, Urban Outfitters, Macy’s, and Express for some really stylish threads! Are you on a budget? Try Target, JcPenney, or Marshall’s!
I’ll be the first one to tell you I’m a sucker for a “Hottie in a Hoodie” they have special powers. I’m serious! Think about it… the hoodie is always in style, they are for every season, and look fashionable on anyone at any size. Hoodies are perfect for summer- paired together with some Bermuda shorts, a V-neck t-shirt, and some snazzy shoes. And, dont even get me started on the layering effect. Everyone should know by now that creating layers will slim you.
